Infringement of sensitivity - the inability of the body to correctly perceive irritations, outgoing from the environment or from its own tissues and organs.

Infringement of sensitivity may occur both at the Central and at the peripheral damage to the nervous system.



Which diseases there is infringement of sensitivity

The main reason for violation of sensitivity is structural disorders of the Central and peripheral parts of the nervous system. Such violations are tumors, trauma, insufficient blood supply. In addition, violations of the sensitivity may occur when some mental illnesses.

Types of violations of the sensitivity:

1. Anesthesia - the loss of tactile sensitivity.
- Dissociate - lack of pain and temperature sensation while maintaining proprioceptive or Vice versa.
- Hysterical - anesthesia in patients hysteria, characterized by the absence of organic lesions of receptors, pathways and centers of nervous system and spreading usually in the area of the body, the borders of which does not correspond to zones innervation of certain roots or nerves.
- Radicular - anesthesia in the area of innervation of a rear roots of the spinal cord.
- Partial - absence of one or several kinds of sensitivity while the others.
Segmental - dissociated or total anesthesia in the area of innervation of a certain segment of the spinal cord.
- Total - absence of all kinds of sensitivity.
- Traumatic - anesthesia, arising as a result of damage to the sensitive nerves and (or) of the centers of the nervous system.
2. Analgesia - the loss of pain sensitivity.
3. Ardanesthesia - the loss of temperature sensitivity.
4. Hypoesthesia - reduction of tactile sensitivity.
5. Hyperesthesia - strengthening of tactile sensitivity.
6. Hyperalgesia - excessive pain sensitivity.
7. Hypalgesia - reduction of pain sensitivity.
8. Polyesthesie - single irritation is perceived as plural.
9. Allocheiria - patient local irritation is not in the place of its application, and on symmetric parts from the opposite side.
10. Dysaesthesia - fucked-up the perception of a receptor accessories (the heat is perceived as a cold, pain irritation as heat).
11. Paresthesia - burning sensation, tingling, pins and needles, pulling arising spontaneously.
12. Hyperpathia - the emergence of a sharp unpleasant feelings when causing irritation. Is characterized by an increase of the threshold of perception of stimuli (hypoesthesia), the lack of accurate localization of irritation (unpleasant feeling captures the whole area), the long latency period and a long period of follow-up (perception lags behind the time from irritation, unpleasant feeling is kept for a long time after the termination of the stimulus).
13. Synaesthesia - the occurrence of the stimuli of the senses organ along with adequate any other sensations (for example, the sensation of color when listening to music).
14. Bathyanesthesia - lack of proprioceptive sensitivity.
